Data We Collect
Routinex collects minimal data. Here is an honest breakdown:
- Routine & Completion Data: Your routines, streaks, and completion history. This data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your private iCloud account.
- Subscription Information: Purchase receipts and subscription status, processed by RevenueCat. We do not store your payment details.
- Push Notification Token: Used solely to deliver reminders you configure. We do not use this for marketing.
- Diagnostic Data: If you have enabled crash reporting via iOS Settings, Apple may collect anonymised crash reports. We do not use any third-party crash reporting SDK.
iCloud Sync
Routinex offers optional iCloud synchronisation to keep your routine data consistent across your Apple devices.
- Your data is synced to your personal iCloud account — not our servers.
- iCloud sync is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- You can disable iCloud sync at any time in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Routinex.
- Disabling iCloud sync does not delete your local data.
Subscriptions & RevenueCat
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed via RevenueCat, a third-party service.
- RevenueCat receives anonymised purchase receipts and subscription status from Apple.
- RevenueCat does not receive your advertising identifier (IDFA). We do not use the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework and we do not collect IDFA.
- We do not have access to your payment card details at any point.
- RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Push Notifications
Routinex uses push notifications to deliver routine reminders you schedule within the app.
- You will be asked for permission before any notifications are sent.
- You can revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.
- We do not use your push token for advertising or share it with third parties.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share limited data only with:
Your Rights & Data Deletion
You have full control over your data:
- Delete local data: Delete the app from your device.
- Delete iCloud data: iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage → Routinex → Delete.
- Delete subscription data: Contact us at [email protected] and we will request deletion from RevenueCat on your behalf.
Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information:
- On-device encryption: Your routine data is stored in an SQLite database protected by iOS's built-in data protection (AES-256 encryption at rest).
- iCloud transit encryption: All data synced via iCloud is encrypted in transit using TLS and stored encrypted at rest in Apple's infrastructure.
- Subscription data: RevenueCat transmits purchase receipts over HTTPS. We never receive or store your payment card details.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary:
Your Rights (GDPR & UK GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR:
- Right of access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to restrict processing: Request that we limit the way we use your data.
- Right to object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the UK: the Information Commissioner's Office — ico.org.uk).
Our lawful basis for processing your data is performance of a contract (subscription management) and legitimate interests (local routine data processing enabling core app functionality).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Routinex after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
For significant changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice.
